Back-to-School Check List

Most, if not all, of us are back to school. The first few weeks are always madness: trying to find classes, buying books, finalizing schedules, finding parking or picking the quickest routes to class. It's also a time to figure out what you need to carry on a daily basis.

Here's a list of essentials you will want on hand for the first weeks and beyond:
  • Laptop charger: Unfortunately laptops batteries don't last as long we need to them to. If you take notes in class or just need web access 24/7, and spend large amounts of time on campus, make sure you bring your charger.
  • Wallet: Always make sure you have your wallet. You never know when you need change for the parking meter, a few dollars to grab a coffee or cash for a last minute lunch. Plus, it's the best place to keep your student ID.
  • Water bottle: It a lot easier, and cheaper, to refill your water bottle at water fountains, instead of buying a $2, bottled water every time you're thirsty.
  • Snacks: Throw a few granola bars or some crackers in your bag for afternoon snacks between or during classes. It's also cheaper than hitting the vending machine every time your stomach grumbles.
  • Umbrella: We're having some strange weather in Michigan. It's September, 90 degrees and rainy. You never know when the heavens will decide to rain on you.  Pack an umbrella.
  • iPod: Music makes your trek around campus a lot less boring. But, don't get too lost in the music. Be aware of your surroundings.
All right, Pressurettes! It's time to hit the books and burn the midnight oil. Welcome to Fall 2012!

Rock out, kiddies.
