The PR Playlist - Jasmine's Picks (A Top 10 List)

via Tumblr
Elise graced you with her PR-playlist picks. Now, it's my turn.

At work, I listen to music all day long. It helps me stay engaged and productive. My weapon of choice is Pandora because I can't use my personal laptop. I have a dinosaur-sized, molasses-slow desktop I'm forced to work from everyday.

One day, the IT guy was remotely fixing my computer and he said it was extremely slow. Did he fix it? No. But, at least he noticed, right? That has to, eventually, get me an upgrade, right?

Back to the music. Before we begin, I must warn you: Elise and I have very different music tastes. They're so different, sometimes it's a wonder how or why we're friend compatible.

I like to think it's because opposites attract, we're both slaves to fashion or we can watch football together.

My music tastes tread on the rock, hard rock and metal end of the spectrum. As a matter of fact, recently, I was moshing and passing crowd surfers at the fifth annual Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival. Per usual, it was a fantastic time. The sore throat and aching body were an OK price for a spectacular day.

Now that you've been warned, I present my top 10 PR-playlist:

1. Duality - Slipknot; they're headlining Mayhem Fest and promoting their newest album, Antennas to Hell. Plug aside, Duality is a Slipknot classic and, of course, is part of their setlist on the tour. Everyone needs a hard-rocking, heavy-hitting, pick-me-up song.

2. Madhouse - Anthrax; Legitimately had my ass kicked--excuse my French--at Mayhem during this song. I've never been to a show with so many people crowd surfing at once. This song gets everyone moving.

3. Cowboys from Hell - Pantera; I spend a lot of time driving around metro Detroit for my internship. This song is perfect for summertime cruising. Try it. You won't be disappointed. Plus, it makes you feel like a badass.

4. Have a Drink on Me - AC/DC; though I'm a child of the 90s, growing up 80s rock 'n' roll was what we enjoyed. In middle school, AC/DC was the band everyone liked. Also, Have a Drink on Me is a great party tune that isn't Nickelback.

5. Welcome to the Jungle - Guns n' Roses; Friday, the best hard rock album, Appetite for Destruction, turned 25. Welcome to the Jungle was GNR's first single off that record. And was chosen by VH1 as the best hard song of all time.

6. So Far Away - Avenged Sevenfold; no top 10 list is complete without one song from your favorite band. This Avenged Sevenfold track is a ballad, lyrics written by the band's lead guitarist, for their late drummer, Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan. He's been gone almost three years and the band continues to tour in his honor.

7. Have Faith in Me - A Day to Remember; I can listen to ADTR's discography, on repeat, and never get sick of it. This is my favorite ADTR song. Oh, the acoustic version rocks too.

8. Raised by Wolves - Falling in Reverse; Yes, I'm a member of the Ronnie Radke faithful. If you're still listening to Escape the Fate, they've managed to kick out almost all the founding members, you're doing it wrong.

9. Paralyzed - The Used; This is just a catchy tune by a great band. The Used is another band I often listen to their discography on repeat.

10. Feel Good Drag - Anberlin; Or The Feel Good Drag, as it was originally released, was the initial single and a chart topper from the band's first album. It was originally released on the band's second album, but was re-recorded for their fourth album, and first record on a major label. Both versions are good. Throw it on your late summer playlist.

Well, there you have it! My PR playlist! What tunes are you rocking? Let's know! Elise and I love reader feedback! Hit us up on Twitter or shoot us an email.

Until next time...
Rock out, kiddies!
